All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Bauchi, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd) said he had instructed his lawyers to appeal against the judgment by the election petitions tribunal in the state which dismissed his petition for lack of merit.

The tribunal Wednesday dismissed his petition challenging the election of Governor Bala Mohammed of the PDP on March 18, 2023 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Reacting to the judgement yesterday in Bauchi, Ambassador Sadique Abubakar said  the tribunal erred in the Wednesday judgment.

In a seven-minutes video in Hausa language, Abubakar said he would follow all constitutional, electoral and legal means to reclaim the mandate the people gave him at the polls.

“We have resolved to appeal against the tribunal judgment, we are now heading to the Appeal Court, and we would follow any judicial procedures in the effort to reclaim the people’s mandate,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to his supporters, saying; “We have every confidence that this stolen mandate would be reclaimed at higher judicial stages.”
