NYSC Trains Audit Staff On ICT Skills, Transparency

To upscale its management capacity for efficient data analysis and improved transparency in governance in the Scheme, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has organised a training for its Internal Audit Desk Officers.

The Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed, while declaring the workshop open in Abuja on Monday, said the training is in line with the administration’s Policy Thrust to enhance staff competences and work output.

 

The theme of the workshop is, “Requisite Information Technology (IT) Skills For Effective Service Delivery.”

The NYSC boss who was represented by the Director General Services, Yusuf Baba Abdulahi said there is need for continuous upgrade of knowledge and skills of staff to align with global best practices.

 

“Accordingly, the theme of this workshop “Training NYSC Internal Auditors on Requisite Information Technology (IT) Skills for Effective Service Delivery” reflects management’s unwavering commitment to deployment of IT solutions to drive every facet of the Scheme’s operations.

 

“This training is therefore designed to enhance your competences for optimal discharge of your duties. The training will focus on the following areas among others;

 

“Deploying IT skills to enhance, apacity for efficient data analysis, improve transparency in governance in the Scheme,

efficiency, use of IT in achieving information confidentiality and handling of sensitive data, organizational skills and ability to stay focused on assigned tasks and understanding of data integrity and security policies through the

deployment of IT.”

 

For his part, the Head of Audit, Mr. Levi Agim applaud the Director General’s unwavering passion and commitment to Staff training which has enhanced the job performance and output of personnel of the Scheme.

 

He said it is therefore imperative that the Knowledge and skill of Officers be constantly updated on prevailing developments and best practices particularly in the area of

Information Technology as the financial environment is getting more complex and sophisticated by the day.
