Unemployment: ‘Young Entrepreneurs Should Be Encouraged, Supported’

Since 2015, Nigeria has endured one of its worst economic slumps in a generation. Two recessions since 2016 – driven by a combination of the government’s economic policies, a collapse in oil prices, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The economic challenges have affected people across the age spectrum, but the rise of youth unemployment has been among the most troubling factors. The youths need to get a clue on some youths that is still excelling inspite of the challenges we face in this country.

The story is that of Dekunle Okunrinboye, a fast-rising Nigerian entrepreneur who is gradually on the right path towards building a legacy for himself.

Dekunle, born in Akure is the founder of DK industries Group and well-recognized as a entrepreneur and an industrialists. He has invested in various start-ups and currently chairs various boards, known for his shrewdness in the business world, and once inspired many through his exploit especially when he was recognize as one-time largest exporter of cocoa and also pioneer industries that shape Ondo State but thanks to the father who has already shape the business for him earlier.

He went to Adedewe Educational Center, in Ondo State, for his elementary education. After completing his elementary school education, Dekunle Okunrinboye attended Sacred Heart Minor Seminary, Akure later Caleb International College, Lagos. Afterwards, he joined the Babcock University in Ogun State and pursued a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing. But Prior to his M.Eng Degree from UNB, he worked as a Lead project manager at ProGroup in Nigeria for over 3 years.

Dekunle, in 2015 incorporated a firm called DK industries Group, where he is the director. Since bursting onto the scene, the 28-year-old entrepreneur has kept the public captivated with his business antics over the years, where his net worth has been a subject of public debate. Because Dekunle has not publicly released his tax returns, it’s not possible to definitively determine his wealth in the past or today but his income can be attributed to the various businesses he owns and directs.

Dekunle Okunrinboye, first served at his father’s company. After a while, he established his company. In 2017, the haulage business boomed, and several companies has been incorporated.

In 2020, the DK Energy Ltd. Was inaugurated and since then they have delivered Hundreds of barrels in crude oil to entities and, they began the construction of an Ultra-Modern Gas station. The DK Investments Ltd. Has funded various ideas and invested in a series of businesses, stocks and basic investments.

In 2023, he went further in establishing Billionaire Company Ltd, specializing in hospitality, finance and bottling services.

Nigerian youths need to emulate the entrepreneurial spirit of young industrialist, Dekunle Okunrinboye, and the government should encourage him and other creative, brilliant and talented youth who are capable of delivering world-class results in all ramifications towards the development of the country’s economy.
