The National Economic Council (NEC) has appealed to the Organised Labour to shelve its impending indefinite strike action set for October 3, 2023.

A member of the Council and Plateau State governor, Caleb Mutfwang, disclosed this to State House correspondents on Thursday following a NEC meeting presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa.

Governor Mutfwang underscored the Council’s consensus that the proposed strike could have dire consequences for the nation’s economy.

The NEC, chaired by Vice President Shettima, comprises the 36 State governors and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, among other members.
