Bauchi Civil Service Commission Sacks Staff For Misconduct

The Civil Service Commission in Bauchi has dismissed one Sani Mohammed Tirwun, a secretarial assistant with the Hospitals Management Board for serious misconduct that included issuance of fake appointment letters.

Other acts Tirwun committed are illegal posting of illegal staff, faking of the board staff officer’s signature and altering of posting letters.

The offences, according to the commission, contradict Section 4 Rule 108 Item XV11, XIV, XV of the Bauchi State Public Service Regulation 2017 (reviewed version).

The offences are considered serious misconduct and liable to dismissal.

The information officer in the commission, Saleh Umar, in a press release yesterday, said  the board considered the dismissal during its plenary session held on October 5, 2023.

Besides these offences, the commission revealed that the officer was also alleged to have collected over N1,000,000 for the purpose of issuance of fake appointment letters as well as N 250,000, 200,000 and N150,000 respectively for inserting the victims among those approved for posting.

Tirwun, in an answer to a query issued him by the Hospitals Management Board confessed to the crime, hence the approval for dismissal was with effect from October 1, 2023.
