A statement by the chief press secretary to the speaker, Raphael Akume, said his principal also donated 10,000 exercise books to secondary school students and pupils of his constituency. He said the gesture is to ease the burden on the parents and caregivers.

The CPS said the Jigawa State speaker, Haruna Aliyu, who graced the occasion commended the Benue State governor Hyacinth Alia for giving the legislative arm of government a free hand to operate.

Haruna who he said is also the chairman of the North West Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures, applauded the Benue speaker for maintaining a cordial relationship with the executive and the judiciary arms of government saying it will set Benue on the path of unprecedented development.

He said, “I am proud to be associated with the laudable projects of the Benue speaker which are people-oriented projects, it is amazing that in less than hundred days, my colleague has put up these projects. I’m very proud of him.”
