Brazil legend Edmundo Alves de Souza Neto has lauded Nigerian star Victor Osimhen as an ‘absolute champion.’
The 52-year-old, who won the 1997 COPA America with Brazil, was recently asked if his nickname ‘The Animal’ would suit Napoli’s talisman Osimhen.
“Well, I don’t know him that well,” Edmundo told Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport via Ilnapolionline.
“We have different characteristics, I played further back and he is a centre-forward who knows how to go deep behind the defenders.
“I consider him an absolute champion, but I don’t know if he can be considered the best in his role at an international level,” he continued.
“He is very willing even if the ball doesn’t always reach him often.”
Osimhen has played nine competitive matches this season and scored five times for Napoli.
