The Senators were received at the Wachakal Airstrip by the Deputy Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ya’u Usman-Dachia, alongside some other lawmakers.

The delegation, thereafter, proceeded to Senator Lawan’s residence in Gashua.

Senator Akpabio, in a condolence message delivered on behalf of the Senate delegation, paid glowing tribute to Senator Lawan’s mother, Hajiya Halima ‘Baba’ Ibrahim.

Akpabio, in another breadth, lauded the accomplishments of Senator Lawan as the President of the 9th Senate.

He commended the former Senate President for his commitment to the development of his constituency.

He said that Lawan’s passion for serving his people attracted several projects, which brought about infrastructural development to Yobe North Senatorial District.

Responding, Senator Lawan thanked the Senate President Akpabio, and members of the delegation for finding time between their busy schedules to pay him a visit over the death of his mother.
