A group under the aegis of US-Nigeria International Visitor Leadership Academy (IVLP), has extended the hand of partnership to the federal government to enable it to inspire, connect and empower various communities in the country.
The president of the group, Dr Baraka Sani stated this yesterday at the inaugural lectures of US-Nigeria ECULPAA, IVLP Alumni and presentation of awards to executive members with the theme: “Selfless Leadership and Volunteering as Tools for Deepening Our Democracy” in Abuja.
Sani said that IVLP is a programme that inspires, connects and empowers great leaders from all around the world.
According to Sani, the alumni of the IVLP, include some of the current and past presidents, potential leaders, policy movers and shakers from all across the world like Tony Blair, the former prime minister of UK, Dilma Rousseff, president of Brazil, Nicola Sarkozy, former president of France. Sani added that back home in Nigeria, many of the governors, ministers, senators and representatives in the National Assembly are alumni of this programme.
“We believe that the Nigerian government can leverage and further enhance bilateral cooperation in our various fields of experience, like education, politics, creative arts, communication, etc. On this note, along with my executive team and all our alumni members, we have resolved to continue putting our service in the cause of humanity in order to inspire, connect and empower our various communities and country, Nigeria,” Sani added.
