The government has indicated strong commitment to partner groups and non-governmental organisations to create awareness on the dangers associated with the disease.

Governor Bala Mohammed gave the indication while receiving a group of NGOs at Government House in Bauchi as part of activities to mark the 2023 World Breast Cancer Day.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, Governor Mohammed said the government was concerned about the number of deaths being recorded as a result of breast cancer.

Governor Mohammed said the state government through the ministry of health would also establish breast cancer screening centres in all parts of the state, including rural areas.
