The state deputy governor Mohammed Auwal Jatau who is also the chairman of the task force, disclosed this during the quarterly government meeting in his office.

He said the task force’s dedication to improving primary healthcare services in the state has been unwavering.

To him, the major task of the task force is to ensure improvement, transparency, accountability and high-level oversight of primary healthcare service delivery in the State, through partnerships with development partners and other donor agencies.

Jatau said the focus of the state government on improving the accessibility and quality of primary healthcare services has yielded remarkable results in addition to the significant strides made in reducing maternal and infant mortality rates, combating contagious diseases, and increasing immunisation coverage across the state.

“Let me express my gratitude to all members of the task force for their tireless efforts and commitment to our cause. Each of you has played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of primary healthcare in Bauchi State. Your expertise, insights, and unwavering passion have been instrumental in driving positive change in our healthcare system.

“Today, as we gather here, it is crucial to reflect on our achievements and the progress we have made in the past quarter. The objectives of today’s meeting are to update members on the Primary Healthcare Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), update members on the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine introduction and on the level of preparedness and the supplementary immunisation activities in the state.

“It is important to remember that our work is far from over. We must continually analyze and evaluate our efforts to identify areas where we can further improve. It is only through relentless dedication and innovation that we can truly transform the primary healthcare landscape in Bauchi State.

“As a government, we urge all members of the task force to assist us on key areas of priority. Strengthening primary healthcare infrastructure, enhancing the availability of essential drugs and equipment, and investing in the training and development of healthcare workers are critical steps towards achieving our goals,” he said.
