Guwor who is the speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, explained that the target is to find amicable and lasting solution to the impasse.

He expressed optimism on the quick resolution of the contending issues.

“The leadership of the States Houses of Assembly are not happy over the ongoing industrial action by the parliamentary workers. You can observe that all through last week we could not sit because of the strike. We are not happy that we cannot sit to carry out our legislative functions.

“However, the leadership of Conference of Speakers of States Legislature is not relenting in seeking amicable resolution to the problem. We have been meeting for the past three days on the issue. I know the Governor’s Forum is also on it.

“What matters most is lasting solution to the impasse. We believe that the leadership of PASAN may also not want to unnecessarily prolong the strike. So, it is our hope that the strike will be called off soon,” Guwor stated.
