The House of Representatives has restricted members from belonging to more than 12 Standing Committees of the House while minimum members of each Committee would be 20.

This followed the consideration and adoption of a report of the Ad-hoc Committee on the Review of Standing Orders of the House at plenary on Tuesday.

The House also approved the recommendation of the report that
Committee chairmen should not co-opt a new member into their Committees without the express authority of the Speaker.

Other amendments adopted by the House include; a provisio for emergency sittings, increase of matters of urgent public importance from a minimum of two to three on each plenary day and
constitutional place for parliamentary friendship groups.
