This followed the consideration and adoption of a report of the Ad-hoc Committee on the Review of Standing Orders of the House at plenary on Tuesday.

The House also approved the recommendation of the report that
Committee chairmen should not co-opt a new member into their Committees without the express authority of the Speaker.

Other amendments adopted by the House include; a provisio for emergency sittings, increase of matters of urgent public importance from a minimum of two to three on each plenary day and
constitutional place for parliamentary friendship groups.

Moving for the consideration of the report, Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee, Hon. Igariwey Enwo, stated that the amendments were to guide the 10th House of Representatives for its structure and duration.
