Foundation Empowers Women, Girls With Skills

A non-governmental organisation (NGO) Queen Entrepreneur Women’s Foundation has equipped women and girls with relevant skills to be self-employed and employers of labour in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The foundation’s executive director, Egonu Tessy, said their commitment to women’s empowerment is unwavering.

She said, “We recognize the immense potential and talents that women bring to the table. Therefore, we have developed a range of programmes and initiatives tailored to enhance the skills, knowledge, and confidence of women from all walks of life. By providing access to education, mentorship, and career development opportunities, we aim to unlock the full potential of women, enabling them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.

“The foundation also places a strong emphasis on nurturing young minds. We believe that investing in the education and development of children is key to building a sustainable and prosperous future. Through our programmes, we inspire and equip young children with essential life skills, instilling in them a sense of curiosity, creativity, and a desire for lifelong learning.

“Capacity building is the driving force behind everything we do. Whether it’s providing women with entrepreneurial skills, fostering leadership qualities in young girls, or promoting inclusive education for children, our foundation is dedicated to creating opportunities for growth and development.

“This year we focused on mental wellness and wealth health balance. We are transforming the age because mental health is very important and a lot of people are not really talking about it. So, the focus on this programme is to talk about women and their mental health. So, we hope to empower women,” she said.
