Omiko said 87 crashes involving 697 persons with 66 deaths has been recorded so far in 2023.

At an awareness campaign to promote responsible driving in the Ember months held in Kaduna, Omiko noted that most of the road crashes occurred during the Ember months.

He said the FRSC zonal command organised the campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of speed, overloading and reckless driving.

Omiko, however, said the command will provide free vehicle checks at designated places, free medical checks and drugs, as well as awareness campaigns in motor parks, and places of worship among others as part of activities for the 2023 exercise.
