President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 20 Nigerians to serve as federal commissioners in the National Population Commission (NPC) with nine incumbents appointed for a second term in office.
Their appointment was contained in a statement issued yesterday by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale.
The commissioners are Hon. Emmanuel Trump Eke (Abia), Dr. Clifford Zirra (Adamawa), who is reappointed; Chidi Christopher Ezeoke (Anambra – Reappointed), Barr. Isa Audu Buratai (Borno- Reappointed) and Bishop Alex Ukam (Cross River).
Others are Brume-Ataguba (Delta), Jeremiah Ogbonna Nwankwegu (Ebonyi), Tony Aiyejina (Edo-Reappointed), Ejike Ezeh (Enugu – Reappointed).
There are also Abubakar Damburam (Gombe – Reappointed), Uba Nnabue (Imo – Reappointed), Sa’adatu Dogon Bauchi Garba (Kaduna), Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa (Kano), Yori Afolabi (Kogi), Olakunle Sobukola (Ogun), Temitayo Oluseye Oluwatuyi (Ondo).
Also on the list are Mudashiru Hussain (Osun -Reappointed), Mary Ishaya Afan (Plateau), Ogiri Itotenaan Henry (Rivers) and Saany Sale (Taraba -Reappointed).
The president charged them to implement all measures taken by his administration to produce and effectively appropriate accurate population data with which lasting solutions to Nigeria’s socio-political and economic challenges can be developed and executed.
