Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deployed to various polling units across Lokoja LGA of Kogi State to conduct Saturday’s governorship election in the state were stranded at the Ajayi Crowther Memorial School.
The officials include corps members and other ad-hoc staff contracted by the commission for the conduct of the election.
The officials claimed they had no means of transportation to their various polling units after receiving the electoral materials.

According to a report, only three minibuses were on sight to transport over 200 electoral officials.
LEADERSHIP reports that a total of 1.8 million registered voters are expected to vote in the off-cycle governorship election. The election will be held in 3,508 polling units spread across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
The LGAs included Adavi, Ajaokuta, Ankpa, Bassa, Dekina, Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela/Odolu, Ijumu, Kabba-Bunu, Kogi, Lokoja, Mopamuro, Ofu, Ogori-Magongo, Okene, Okehi, Olamaboro, Omala, Yagba-East, and Yagba-West.
