ICW West Africa also stressed that there must be a conscious choice made to respect, protect, and fulfill the rights of all persons including women in their diversity.

At a press briefing and award presentation that was held in commemoration of 2022 World Population Day in Nasarawa yesterday, the regional director of ICW-WA Mrs Assumpta Reginald said there must be efficient legal and non-legal systems in place that promotes access to rights when it is violated.

“There must be ready reforms of political systems that focus on the welfare of the citizens. There must be a conscious choice of ensuring that the governance systems promote and sustain the health and wellness of its citizens of which Women and Adolescent Girls are one,” she said.

Also, the community support adviser, UNAIDS, Gabriel Undelikwo stressed the need to empower women via education, information sharing, and economically to make them have a voice in their community.
