UNN To Award First Class Degrees To 288 Graduands

The University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) will award first class degrees to 288 graduands at its 51st convocation, which started on Tuesday and will end on November 25.

Its vice chancellor, Professor Charles Igwe, disclosed this during a press briefing on the event at the Enugu Campus of the school.

He also announced that a total of 11, 444 first degrees of the UNN will be awarded at the ceremony.

Prof Igwe also disclosed that four prominent Nigerians have been found deserving of the honourary doctorate degrees of the university.

He said in keeping with their tradition, seven retired professors of the university will be elevated to the distinguished status of professor emeritus.

He recalled that at the last press briefing, he revealed the desire and plans of his administration to gradually reduce dependence on public power supply.
