ICPC Presents Anticorruption Award To NLTF Management

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, in recognition of Dr  Bello Maigari-led National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) prudent utilisation of resources has awarded the agency the second best among Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) with zero tolerance for corruption and strict compliance with due process.

The award was presented to NLTF at the second national summit against graft, tagged “Diminishing Corruption in Public Service and 20th Anniversary of the ICPC” with the theme: “Together Against Corruption.”

LEADERSHIP reports that the National Lottery Trust Fund, NLTF,  under Dr Bello Maigeri as executive secretary has earned accolades and medals from relevant stakeholders for its zero tolerance on corruption and strict compliance with due process.

The Act establishing the NLTF empowers it to execute intervention projects in critical sectors including health, agriculture, disaster and humanitarian among several others, after due consideration of the governing board and approval by the president.

The agency also took proactive measures in the 2020 in cushioning the effect of COVID+19 pandemic on Nigerians with the donation of isolation centres and other humanitarian aids. It has also registered its presence in addressing humanitarian and health challenges of internally displaced persons (IDPs).
