The framework also provides health services to people based on security challenges and natural disasters.

WHO representative in Nigeria, Dr. Walter Kazadi Mulombo disclosed this while declaring open Northeast, 13th WHO End-of term Joint Operations Review held in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

Mulombo, said the essence of the capacity building is to review operations, health services provided to communities that are affected by insurgencies whether in IDP camps or hard to reach areas, adding that WHO also provides intervention such as in nutrition, and tackling gender based violence in the context of protracted crises.

“This particular meeting is different from what we have been doing before, because it happened when WHO is developing Protracted Emergency Framework within which is every country is subjected to security issues or challenges, natural disasters or climate change and others are supposed to flow,” he said.
