Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has said the Amanyanabo of Kalabari, late King Professor Theophilus Princewill, brought development and prosperity to the Kalabari Kingdom, during his reign.

MOSIEND president, Kennedy West, disclosed this yesterday during Igira Sra, a traditional gyration, organised by the group in honour of the late traditional ruler, in Port Harcourt.

West stated that the late Princewill, who was chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers (RSCTR), used his intellectual prowess to unite the people of Kalabari Kingdom.

He said, “The Amanyanabo of Kalabari now transiting to our ancestors, has bequeathed to us a peaceful disposition, dialogue in every of his activities. It has shown that indeed, whatever we clamour for, whatever the bickering, the conflict could be, on a round table, it can be adequately resolved.

“He showed and demonstrated that Kalabari people have no other place to call their home than Kalabari Kingdom. The Kalabari people have no other brothers first, than the Kalabaris. The Kalabari people should be able to resolve whatever problem they have themselves. That is a legacy for every Kalabari son and daughter, kings and chiefs, to emulate.

“He has left behind him, an atmosphere of peace, tranquility, prosperity and vision for us to emulate. We think that in advancing the Kalabari Kingdom, from his attitude, his peaceful disposition, his intellectual prowess, his character when it comes to activities they unite.

“There is no better way to learn than to go back and see his reign. His reign was serene, his reign attracted peace, development and prosperity to Kalabari Kingdom. That is what every right thinking Kalabari person should leverage on to take the kingdom to a greater height,” the group said.
