The empowerment scheme was announced at the recently-concluded Skyewise Entrepreneurship Summit 2023, which was held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

With the theme, “Unveiling the Power Within You For National Entrepreneurial Growth and Development”, the 2023 edition was the third in the series.

Notable CEOs, including leadership excellence coach and the founder of Guardian Of The Nation International (GOTNI), Dr. Linus Okorie, popular AOP Adaora Onyechere Sydney Jack, Tofunmi Akinseye, actress Juliet Ibrahim, businessman Ibidapo Lawal,
Emmanuel Ekpa, Dr. Ifeoma Anyanwu, Dr. Summy Smart Francis and others spoke extensively at the summit while popular finance and leadership coach, Dr. Olumide Emmanuel, and Africa’s most influential investment coach, Dr. Stephen Akintayo, also spoke virtually.

A panel discussion, which centered on harnessing the potential of the country’s young population to enhance economic growth, was moderated by a veteran broadcast journalist, Seun Okinbaloye, of Channels TV.

Speaking at the event, the GMD of Skyewise Group, Dr. Elvis Abuyere, noted that the strength of the nation’s economy relies on entrepreneurship, a field he said the youths wield enormous strength in.

According to Abuyere, small and medium scale businesses boost the economy greatly, emphasising that the youths should utilise their creativity to build the nation’s economy.

“A new Nigeria is possible and the future of Africa is in entrepreneurship. We are passing the message that we do not need to wait for the government anymore, look within you for national transformation.

“Every idea you have seen over the years was formed from within individuals. Within yourself, there is so much you can give to the society and before you know it, the world will be better for it,” he said.

He said those who benefitted from the disbursement of funds were young entrepreneurs who convinced the judges on their business ideas.

Beneficiaries include; Ojo Oluwatobi Felicia, Saadatu Hamza Madaki, Oyi Joseph Okechukwu, Peter Esiet, and Mercy Adeoluwa. The breakdown of the N3m disbursement went to the five beneficiaries.

While Ojo Oluwatobi Felicia went home with the sum of N1m, the rest four got N250,000 each.

They could not hold back their joy as they expressed gratitude to Skyewise Group for the empowerment, assuring that they would make good use of the opportunity.
