Nnaji Moves For More Investment In Artificial Intelligence

Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, has said that for Africa to compete globally in advanced technology there is need to invest in and pay special attention to Artificial Intelligent (AI) for speedy socio-economic advancement of the continent.

Chief Nnaji said this when the Glisten International Academy, Abuja, led by its Chief Executive, Dr Samira Jibir, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja on Thursday and presented Mairabot, a medical robot invented by the academy.

The minister, who was impressed by the innovation of the young students, noted that the world is in the era of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligent, Medical learning and Biometrics. He added that this newly invented medical robot Mairabot by the Academy “is a great innovation capable of benefiting the continent and the world at large.”

The Minister enumerated the benefits and urged   parents to encourage their children to leverage on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in order to achieve their dreams.

According to a statement by the Deputy Director Press and Public Relations of the ministry, Obed Atuora, the Minister also emphasized  the great strides of the academy. He said  “even going as far as Dallas for competition in the world best robotic and coming in tall in Africa out of the African countries that participated is commendable”.
