The chairman, Abia State Local Goverment Service Commission, Elder Victor Azumara, has said there is no going back on the daily biometric capturing of local government workers in the state.

Azumara stated this in an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP Weekend in Umuahia, adding that the commission was bent on implementing the policy to its logical conclusion.

“Under my watch, the management has taken steps and implemented many policies to reposition the commission for greater service delivery and they have begun to yield the anticipated positive results,” he noted.
He said the commission reintroduced capacity workshop training programmes for heads of departments and other senior officers when he assumed office to enhance its operations and restore sanity in the system.
The chairman warned that his administration would not tolerate absenteeism and lateness to work, truancy, indecent dressing and joining of forces with those who want to tarnish the image of the commission.
He said workers who were recently suspended from the local government system were engaged without due process and strict adherence to civil service rules and enjoined job seekers to be wary of nefarious elements parading themselves as agents.
