Labour Party (LP) governorship hopeful, Barrister Kenneth Imansuangbon (aka The Riceman), has vowed to defend the Labour Party votes if given the ticket as the standard flag bearer for the party and noted that the party is well positioned to occupy Edo seat of power come 2024 governorship election with the right candidate.
He boasted that he remains the only aspirant among the array of aspirants seeking to emerge as the candidate of the party on account of his experience and widespread popularity.
“When I visited your (LP state chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi) local government headquarters (Afuze) it took me three hours to get to Ewohinmi from there. The state of the roads in that part of the state is very deplorable and is unacceptable.
„If you elect me as the candidate of this great party, I will be at the forefront to defend your votes. I will fight to the last drop of my blood to ensure that our votes count. Enough is enough,” he said.
He promised to rectify the issue under three months of his assumption of office as the governor of the state.
Receiving the governorship hopeful and his entourage, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi, the chairman of the LP in the state, promised that a level playing ground will be made available for the party’s governorship primaries.
Imansuangbon spoke yesterday when he paid Christmas/End of Year visit to the leadership and party members in the state headquarters office in Benin City.
He said, “I am happy that our party is getting better and stronger. I am happy now that our party is well positioned for the challenges ahead. We will surmount all.
“I can report to you that we have toured the nooks and crannies of all the 18 local government areas of Edo State. LP is ready. Edo people are in support of the party. We saw the problems of our people – bad roads, infrastructural decay, etc.”
