“Let me offer a few suggestions, lobby governments for policy shifts in the education and training ecosystem in favour of TVET and skills development of polytechnics and technical universities to promote TVET academic research and college-industry-government collaborations.

“I Confident that the Nigerian Society of Engineers can take up the challenge of helping to nurture skills development along the entire chain of the engineering profession.

“I now conclude by emphasizing that employment-oriented skills development in Africa, to be effective, should be rooted in the reality of the African-situation, and should be driven by labour market relevance and research evidence,” he said.

In his welcome address, the president/chairman in council of NSE, Engr Tasiu Sa’ad Gidari Wudil, FNSE, said that the conferment of this well-deserved Fellowship on peers is in recognition of their dedication, discipline and industry-wide contribution to engineering.
