Adamawa Dep Gov Declares Christmas Carol Open, Prays for Nation

Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, has officially

declared open the 2023 Christmas Carol, urging people to use the time for uniting families and the nation at large.

Farauta, who declared the event open at Ribadu Square, on Sunday, also prayed for peace and tranquillity in the country, and urged clerics not to relent in evangelism as people look up to them for dissemination of the word of righteousness.

Farauta prayed for peaceful cross over to 2024 as she promised more development by government to the people of the state

This year’s carol theme is “For Unto Us A Child Is Born”.

The guest speaker, Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, His Grace Musa Panti Filibus, said Jesus Christ brought about light that breaks into the darkness, adding that the joyful celebration doesn’t take away the meaning of Christmas.

Most. Rev Dr Dami Mamza, State Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), who is also the Chief Host prayed that this years’ Christmas be full of peace, joy and happiness.

Mamza said, “I pray this carol will usher us into Christmas.”

First, second and third lessons from Genesis chapter 3:8:15 was read by Adamawa State Chief of Staff, Dr Edgar Amos, Rev Maxwell Kuri and Hon James Shuaibu Barka.

Highlight of the event was lightening of the Christmas tree by the deputy governor, while carol songs of praise was conducted by the state NCCN mass choir.
