A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Kingsley Wenenda Wali has called for the review of the party in order to encourage upcoming members.

Wali, who is also the convener of Unity House Foundation (UHF) made the call yesterday while speaking with LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

He said, “The point is that in the PDP, there is a wipe that circumstance has provided, which is used to wipe people into line unlike the APC. Do you understand?

“So, it looks like we need to think about the reward system in the party. We need to think about growing the party; growing the party from the bottom to the top. We have an army of vibrant young men seeking for opportunities to explode but the system does not encourage it.”

The APC chieftain stated that it was wrong to describe those who resigned from the party as ‘good riddance’, pointing out that there was the need to wish them well as the leave the party because no one knows what will happen the next day.

Wali said, “I hear the younger ones saying, oh, let them go, people that have benefitted. For all I care, people worked and well compensated for their hard work. So, if they decide to leave, don’t say good riddance. They have left, wish them well; let them go. You never know what will happen tomorrow.

“People have gone to other parties and then, came back. Like the former minister will always say, it is good to have more than one wives sometimes. Because if you have one wife, she will think that she is the beginning and end of the world.

“She might even think that you are the worst person and you might think that she is the worst person. But, when they bring a second person, that is when you will find out that that your husband or that your wife is a great guy or a great chick.

“Basically, it is a sad commentary for me on how the system operates within the party and our people are leaving,” he said.
