Tinubu, Others Greet Buhari On 81st Birthday

President Bola Tinubu yesterday celebrated his friend and ally, former president Muhammadu Buhari, on his 81st birthday, describing him as an icon of truth, justice and patriotism.

Tinubu in a statement by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, extolled the leadership credentials and feats of the former president, recalling his meritorious service to the nation at various times as military Head of State and as civilian president.

President Tinubu fondly recalled the former president’s aggressive push to modernise Nigeria’s defence architecture while working towards import substitution with the empowerment of millions of Nigerian farmers in his progressive initiative to enhance food security in the country.

The president described Buhari as the finest paradigm of sacrifice, devotion, patriotism, and fidelity to the national cause.

Deputy senate president, Barau Jibrin also extolled the virtues of the former on the occasion of his birthday.

Senator Barau, in a statement by his special adviser on media and publicity, Ismail Mudashir, described Buhari as an untiring promoter of peace and unity in the country.

Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, also extended warm birthday wishes to Buhari.

Governor Bello who spoke through his chief press secretary, Onogwu Mohammed on behalf of his family, the government and the people of Kogi State, celebrated the former president’s remarkable journey with admiration and respect.
