A socio-economic group, under the aegies of Concerned Citizens of Nigeria (CCN) has appealed to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider Lami Oyani Ahmed in his government.
The group said that the call became imperative, considering the role Mrs Ahmed played while in office as the director NNPC, North Central, before her tenure was cut short, adding that she is a competent hand that the nation cannot afford to miss in government, especially at a critical time like this when president’s quest is to put the country’s economy on the right footing.
Addressing a press conference in Kaduna on Sunday, the leader of the group, Sani Yero, explained that the group found it expedient to bring Ahmed to the fore considering her antecedent in the oil and gas sector.
“It is no longer news that one of the factors that attracted both the youth and the old to the candidature of Tinubu/Shettima was the fact that they emphasised on the inclusiveness of competence and corrupt free persons to be part of their government, and on this note, we are calling on the president and his vice to consider the qualities in Ahmed.
“Record has it that amongst other Directors who served under the immediate past administration of Buhari, Mrs Ahmed was the best, following her commitment and show of patriotism towards the nation building and reviving the sector.
“While in office, she had equally used her position to stabilise youth activities, promoting peace and social justice, not only in the North, but in all the geopolitical zones of Nigeria,” the group said.
