Sani, while signing the budget into law, disclosed that ₦318.8 billion was allocated for capital expenditure, with ₦139.4 billion earmarked for recurrent expenditure. These figures reflect a capital-to-recurrent ratio of 69.57% to 30.43%.

The governor emphasized that the 2024 budget was crafted to bring development closer to the people of Kaduna State, terming it the “2024 Budget of Rural Transformation for Inclusive Development,” aimed at bridging the divide between rural and urban areas.

He highlighted that the budget’s objective is to revitalize the state’s rural economies, foster social inclusion, address infrastructure and human capital gaps, enhance agriculture and food security, and ensure safety while safeguarding citizens’ investments.

“To achieve the objectives of the 2024 budget, there must be collective efforts. Ministries, Departments, and Government-Owned Enterprises must adopt effective strategies to bolster their revenue generation endeavors.

“The reinvigorated Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) holds a crucial role in the successful execution of the 2024 budget. KADIRS must sustain the current momentum in revenue generation,” Governor Sani remarked.

“I express gratitude to the Planning and Budget Commission and all those involved in producing the 2024 Appropriation Bill. I urge our citizens to extend their full support and cooperation as we commence the implementation of this budget.

“In these challenging times, the resolute and resilient spirit of the people of Kaduna State will shine. We are determined to lead our people toward a brighter future, and we shall succeed,” he added.

Sani also lauded the State House of Assembly for swiftly considering and passing the Appropriation Bill, applauding their commitment to Kaduna State’s progress and development.

In response, acting Speaker of the assembly, Henry Danjuma-Magaji, stressed that expeditious passage of the bill aimed to enable the government to deliver democracy dividends to the people of the state. He expressed confidence in the governor’s determination to fully implement the appropriation law. (NAN)
