Chippa United’s goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabili, is reportedly in discussions for a potential switch to Belgian Pro League side, Union St Gilloise.*

Nwabili, 27, has caught the attention with his stellar performances in the South African top-flight league, earning recognition as one of the best shot stoppers in Africa.
Sources suggest that Union St Gilloise is eyeing Nwabili as a replacement for Maxime Wensenns, amid speculations linking Wensenns to a move to Turkey.

Having joined Chippa United from Nigeria Premier Football League side Lobi Stars just last year, Nwabili’s potential transfer to the Belgian Pro League adds an intriguing dimension to his career.

He was recently included in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, was in South Africa to watch him and he’s likely to be the first choice for the Super Eagles in Ivory Coast.

He made his debut for the Super Eagles against Mexico in 2021.
