As part of its efforts to ensure the protection of lives and property of the residents of Kebbi State during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 200 of its personnel in four patrol units of the four emirate councils of the state.
The state commandant, Kabiru Abubakar Alkamawa revealed this to newsmen yesterday in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the officers would work with other security personnel deployed by the police, the army, vigilantes and the FRSC to ensure that peace is maintained across the state during the festive period.

According to Alkamawa, officers from the command also arrested 300 criminals from different parts of the state between January and December this year.

“We will also send our rapid patrol teams to different locations in addition to the 200 personnel we dispatched to the four emirate councils to ensure successful Christmas and the new year celebrations in the state,” he added.
The commandant urged people in the state to report any suspicious characters during the festive period to its personnel or sister security agencies for investigation and subsequent prosecution.
