The Police Service Commission (PSC) has issued a public warning, urging Nigerians to disregard a social media message claiming that candidates for the ongoing police constable recruitment must pay N2000 for screening.
This message is fake and misleading, the PSC stressed.

The fraudulent message, circulating on social media, uses the Commission’s name and states: “Congratulations…come along with 2k when coming” for the January 8th screening.

In response, the PSC released a statement through its Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, strongly condemning the misinformation. “The Commission disowns and disassociates itself from this fictitious and misleading publication,” Ani stated.

The PSC reiterated that the entire recruitment process, from registration to medical exams, is completely free. No fees are required at any stage, and the Commission vows to hold responsible any individuals attempting to exploit candidates.

Ani further clarified that the Police Recruitment Board is contacting successful candidates directly with detailed information about the screening process. Candidates are advised to follow official communication channels and avoid relying on unreliable social media sources.

The PSC reiterated its commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, adhering to federal character principles. Candidates are strongly encouraged to resist any temptation to cut corners, as strict regulations safeguard the integrity of the entire process.

“The Board promises to ensure the outcome of this exercise meets international standards, producing high-quality personnel for the police force of our dreams,” Ani concluded.
