Senator Bassey Edet Otu, the Governor of Cross River State, has expressed his unwavering confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s capacity to lift 50 million Nigerians out of abject poverty.
Governor Otu made this assertion Monday evening at the Millennium Park in Calabar, the state capital, during the flag-off and provision of grants to vulnerable groups in the southern senatorial district of the state.
Otu stressed that he had never witnessed a government as magnanimous as President Tinubu’s administration, which has diligently strived to restore the country to its former glory.
The state chief executive affirmed that the nation’s economy and its future were secure in the hands of President Tinubu, saying, “No government has ever uplifted 50 million people out of poverty, but I am confident President Tinubu will achieve it.”
Continuing Otu said, “Despite initial scepticism about the President’s religious affiliation, today we have come to realize his dedication to making the Christmas celebrations more joyful for the people.
“With the government’s strategic focus on the nation’s economy, it is evident that the future of the nation is promising.”
“For Cross River, we are addressing key sectors such as Agriculture, Security, and Tourism. Soon, the state will stand out among other states in the nation.”
Governor Otu assured the physically challenged community that his administration would not discriminate against them. He pledged a separate commission to address their specific needs.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Betta Edu, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, emphasized that the event symbolized the renewed hope and agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Cross River State.
Edu highlighted the President’s collaboration with the Governor of Cross River to elevate residents living below the poverty line.
The Minister urged state residents to support the Governor in continuing the developmental initiatives initiated by the previous administration.
