The Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG -CARES) has provided more than N3.305 billion in funding 245 community projects in Zamfara.

According to Abubakar Nakwada, General Manager of the state Community Social Development Agency (CSDA), the intervention is under the NG -CARES third cycle 2023 projects.

Nakwada said during a Pre-Project Implementation Training for the beneficiaries yesterday in Gusau that the communities were spread across 14 local government areas of the state.

He said the focus was on supporting the poor and vulnerable, as well as reducing poverty and providing basic services in the areas of health, education, water, sanitation, nutrition and environment.

The general manager explained that communities develop their projects plans and sought for funding from the agency.

Nakwada said the agency train the communities and groups on how to execute the projects, and track implementation.

He urged the beneficiaries to utilise the funds for the completion of the projects on time.

Also speaking, CSDA Manager Basic Services, Sani Buhari urged all beneficiaries to ensure proper record keeping and make all their transactions transparent.

“CSDA is ever ready to partner with any community or group that has inadequate social infrastructure,” he added.

He enjoined the communities to be conscious of environmental hazards while implementing the projects. (NAN)
