The governor was speaking when he paid an unscheduled visit to the construction site, where he expressed dismay over the absence of the contractor, ZBCC Limited and its equipment.

He said the contractor has since received mobilisation fees from the state but failed to deliver as expected.

“The contractor has to come back to the site with immediate effect or face the risk of revocation of the contract and bring back our money in line with my policy of ‘work or bring back our money.’

“Any contractor who received our money and failed to deliver will surely return the money collected from the state government. That’s my policy and the policy of the administration,” the governor said.

The governor in a similar visit to Bodinga town, where the same contractor, ZBCC Limited is handling another road project, expressed satisfaction with the level of work done by the contractor.

He said, unlike Gandi Road, the contractor has executed an excellent job and expressed optimism that, the job would be handed over to the state as agreed by the construction firm.

Governor Aliyu commended the contractor for the job well done and asked him to keep to standard. He said, “My administration is willing to support indigenous contractors to grow which will also employ teeming citizens of the state, especially youths.”
