According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, and released to the press in Abeokuta on Saturday, the Divisional Police Officer in Odeda area received a report about the death of the 45-year-old man at 7:00 am.

Odutola clarified that the deceased had sustained injuries during a fight occurring on October 8, 2023, at Osiele market.

“The altercation occurred in the market square between the late Mark Kalu and a couple, Mba Moses, aged 50, and his wife, Florence, aged 40, resulting in Kalu’s death,” she stated.

Efforts initially made by the Babaloja of Osiele and the Igbo Community Leader to mediate and seek a peaceful resolution failed, leading to the detention of the suspects for preliminary investigations.
