The national president of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alh AbdulMumini AbdulMalik, has implored President Bola Tinubu and all state governors to give greater priority to the security of lives and property to ensure stability and progress of the country.
He made the call when he led a delegation of IEDPU on a sympathy visit to the patriarch of the Kadriyah family of Masingba Quarters, Ilorin, Shaykh Hassan Kadriyah, on the recent abduction of some members of his family in Abuja.
The community leader said the increasing insecurity across the country was becoming pathetic and urgent steps must be taken to check it.
He sympathised with Shaykh Kadriyah and members of his family over the incident as he expressed the hope that the kidnapped members of the family would soon be released.
He also prayed for the repose of the soul of a member of the family who lost his life while collaborating with the police to secure the release of his siblings from the criminals.
AbdulMumini encouraged public spirited individuals, particularly well-to-do indigenes of Ilorin Emirate, to support the Kadriyah family in every way possible at this trying time.
Responding, Shaykh Kadriyah thanked the IEDPU president and members of his entourage for identifying with the family at this critical time as he appealed to the Kwara State government and other stakeholders to help in the rescue of the kidnapped members of his family.
