The Delta State governor, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has inaugurated the Azunze market in Kwale, a project facilitated by the member representing the Ndokwa/Ukwuani federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Nnamdi Ezechi.
He also flagged off the distribution of relief materials for victims of last year’s flood and recent disaster at Obiaruku in Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani local government areas by the lawmaker.
The relief materials include rice, foams, blankets, beans, mosquito nets, vegetable oil, seasoning spices, zinc, cement, amongst other items.
Represented by his deputy, Monday Onyeme, the governor expressed confidence in the capacity of the present elected and appointed leaders in the state to deliver on their mandates.
Oborevwori said the last general election in the state produced grassroots-oriented leaders painstakingly nominated by the ruling party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He noted that Hon Ezechi is one of the elected representatives doing the party and the state proud, saying the lawmaker had an enviable track record of performance before going to the National Assembly.
The governor called on those who would be trading in the market to cultivate a maintenance culture to enhance its growth and expansion, describing it as a component of the ‘MORE Agenda’ of his administration.
In his remarks, the legislator assured his constituents that he would work tirelessly for the transformation of the Ndokwa nation, noting that the Azunze market in Kwale, facilitated through the Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute, is just one of the projects he would be attracting to the constituency.
Hon Ezechi appreciated Governor Oborevwori for his concern for people of the area, pledging their continuous support to his administration and assured the youths of Ndokwa nation of great opportunities ahead of them.
