The plots of land located in Abuja, were donated by the Chief Executive Officer of Promiseland Estate, Mr Lawrence Oloche while the N500,000 was donated by DEPOWA.

The President of DEPOWA, Mrs Oghogho Musa, said the event provided opportunity to reminisce on the sacrifice made by the nation’s fallen heroes hence, the need to put smile on the faces of their families.

She called on more well meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of military Widows whose spouses laid down their lives in defense of the nation.

Mrs Musa said the donor had on Dec. 12, 2023, pledged to give widows of fallen heroes 10 plots of land through DEPOWA and thanked him for the redeeming the pledge.

“Accordingly, 10 widows which cuts across various associations under DEPOWA will be beneficiaries of this gesture. It is imperative to mention that the documents will be in the names of the widow’s children.”

The Head, Corporate Communication, Promiseland Estate, Mr Wilson Ndukwe, said the reason behind the gesture was the spirit of compassion, gratitude and commitment to those who had dedicated their lives to safeguarding Nigeria.

“As we celebrate the AFRD on January 15, let us take a moment to reflect on the profound impacts of their services.

“In recognition of this, I am proud to announce to you on behalf of my boss that promiseland estate is representing the plots of asset land to the military widows through DEPOWA,” he said.

The National President, Military Widows Association (MIWA), Mrs Veronica Aluko, expressed appreciation to the firm for the gift of lands to the widows.
