Bandit Gang Overruns Military Base In Katsina

A gang of terrorists has successfully dislodged a joint military base at Nahuta village in the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, LEADERSHIP has learnt.

According to a reliable source in the area, the bandits invaded the base around 11:30 pm on Sunday, setting two Hilux vehicles ablaze and seizing numerous cattle and valuable properties from the local community.

He added that the terrorists, who were armed with high-powered weapons such as AK-47 rifles and General Purpose Machines (RPG), overwhelmed the base in a well-coordinated attack.

A security source from the camp verified the assault, confirming the destruction of vehicles and other valuable items.

He added that there were no reported fatalities, but the bandits demonstrated superior strength and firepower.

When contacted for comment, the state Police spokesman, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, stated that he had not received a report from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the area at the time of filing this report. The incident raises concerns about the security situation in the region.
