A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has alerted security agencies in the state of plans by the party led by its state chairman, Mr Sunday Bisi, to unleash terror on him and his supporters across the state.
He disclosed that he had already forwarded a petition to this effect to the IGP and other security agencies in Abuja for their interventions to avert the state from being plunged into turmoil.
The former governorship aspirant on the platform of the PDP, urged the state Police Command and the Directorate of State Security Services to invite the state party chairman for questioning.
In a release issued in Osogbo yesterday by his media office while reacting to alleged threat by Sunday Bisi to hound his supporters out of the state, Babayemi decried the unguarded statement of the party chairman.
Bisi had on Sunday in a viral video while at Awo, Egbedore Local Government area of the state, threatened to make life unbearable for the supporters of Babayemi across all the local government areas of the state.
The party chieftain pleaded with security agencies to take necessary action against the state PDP Chairman for inciting his supporters to unsettle the peace being enjoyed in the state.
He warned the state PDP chairman not to jeopardise the peace currently being enjoyed by people of the state through his own recklessness, insisting that he would continue to ensure that the peaceful waters of the state were not unsettled through any undue provocation.
Babayemi however implored the people of the state, especially his supporters and admirers across the state not to allow themselves to be provoked into taking laws into their hands.
“Let’s continue to maintain peace because Osun State is our common heritage. We must not allow anything or anybody to provoke us into taking irrational actions capable of dragging its wheel of progress backwards” Babayemi appealed.
