State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, confirmed the facility’s readiness during an inspection tour on Tuesday.

Farauta affirmed that equipment has already been provided, adding that as soon as handover procedures are completed with the contractor, the facility will be operational.

She urged other contractors to emulate Ghumbili Global Nigeria and Musa Kwaya Enterprise, the contractors handling the projects, for timely completion of government projects in the state.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor assured the timely completion of the ongoing Mayo-Belwa Cottage Hospital under construction.

She noted a gap between the ongoing project and the last time the contractor was seen on site. She stated that the contractor, consultant, and officials from the Ministry of Health would meet to resume work on the project.

She urged Sampraco Nigeria Limited, the contracting firm, to ensure adherence to specifications while completing the project.

Mr. Felix Tangwami, Commissioner for Health and Human Services, said the project was abandoned by the previous administration and had to be reviewed for completion.

Engineer Abdulrahman Musa of X-Concrete Consultants Limited cited the rising cost of building materials as a major challenge in completing the project.

Dr. Peter Paul, Principal Medical Officer of the hospital, requested the employment of more medical personnel to staff the facility when completed.
