Why I Stopped Going To Church — Phyna

Controversial reality TV star, Josephina Ijeoma Itabor, popularly known as Phyna, has disclosed why she stopped going to church.

During the latest episode of her podcast ‘Spill with Phyna,’ where she interviewed Nigerian singer Seun Kuti, the reality TV star revealed that she got to a point where she no longer felt the need to go to church.

“I stopped going to Church. Initially, I was Catholic, that was my Church growing up, but things come dey go on. Pope don actually pass different kinds of things then wey no really sit right with me but this recent one of man and man fit come marry for not just any Church but Catholic Church, I just tell myself say no need.”

Seun Kuti, who declared that he is a “juju” worshipper, said, “My problem is with these Catholics, Islamists, Pentecostal, Anglican, you know my family started the Anglican side of Christianity in the country.

“We were part of the pioneers so we’ve been there, done that and we have moved on. We hope Africans can follow suit.”
