The emir made the call yesterday when he received the minister in his palace in Kano.
Bayero said crimes such as kidnapping, banditry and other acts of terrorism were committed using technological facilities that could be traced and stopped.
He said, “We thank God for meeting you today. This is our first meeting since you became minister, we pray for God’s guidance for you and hope you will do your best to deliver accordingly.

“I wish to extend my best wishes to His Excellency the President and call on you to support the President, Bola Ahmad Tinubu, to achieve his plans of developing the country.
“There are modern ways by which you can use technology to resolve the problems of kidnapping, banditry and other crimes. The ministry should initiate methods by which technology can be used to resolve this problem.

“Technology should play a very important role in the provision of security to the people which should be part of the task ahead for you,” the emir stated.
In his address, the minister assured the emir that the president had given them the mandate to ensure that they use technology to harness the development of the country and that they would do their best to ensure that they succeed.
