The incident happened at State Road in Kano metropolis, prompting a swift response from men of the Fire Service following a distress call from the State’s Ministry of Works and Housing at about 10:07am on Friday.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Kano State Fire Service, PFS Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, said that the firefighting unit arrived at the scene by 10:10am to rescue Saifullahi, who is said to be a resident of Samegu Quarters in Kumbotso local government area of the state.

According to PFS Abdullahi, Saifullahi confessed during interrogation that his attempt to help people facilitate visa processing services ended in failure. He said his visa-seeking clients rejected the visas, citing discrepancies, and thereafter demanded a refund from him, amounting to N2million.

Despite managing to raise N500,000, Saifullahi faced mounting pressure and threats from his clients, leading to his desperate attempt to commit suicide as a last resort.
