Gunmen Kill 2 Policemen, Civilianss In Imo

Gunmen have killed four residents at Ohii junction on the Owerri-Orlu Road, Imo State.

Source said two of the victims were policemen on duty within the vicinity.

A video clip circulating on various social media platforms showed the lifeless bodies of the victims.

The video clip indicated that two policemen and two civilians lost their lives in the attack.

It was gathered that the fleeing gunmen opened fire at the junction which claimed the lives of the victims after robbing some point of sales (PoS) operators in the state.

When contacted, the police command\s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, the reason for the attack could not be established, but residents said some PoS operators were attacked and dispossessed of their money in parts of Owerri yesterday.

An eyewitness said, |Earlier today, some armed men in a Corolla vehicle attacked some PoS shops and passers-by just before Rapour junction. disposing them of cash and other valuables.”

Another resident, Chinonso Uwakwe, said some POS operators were robbed at Amawire-Orji on the Owerri-Okigwe Road.

Osundu Uche also disclosed that around 3pm on Monday, some criminals stormed Christiana junction at Egbu Road and robbed POS operators.
