Deputy senate president, Barau Jibrin has reiterated his commitment to the development of education in the country, saying no investment is too much for the education sector.
Barau disclosed this when he received the management of the Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), led by the proprietor, Alhaji Rabiu Isyaku Rabiu, at the National Assembly, Abuja.
A statement issued by Barau’s special adviser on media and publicity, Ismail Mduashir, the deputy senate president said: “Nothing is too much for education. We will continue to support initiatives geared towards the provision of quality education to our citizens.
“No nation develops above the capacity of its human resources and no amount of investment is too much for the sector. All hands must be on deck to provide education to our citizens.”
Extolling the virtues of the founder of the institution, Barau said the contribution of the late Khalifa Isyaka Rabiu to the development of humanity cannot be overemphasized.
“Khalifa was a father to all. The history of Kano State cannot be written without mentioning his name. We have two key pillars in Kano. One is our religion, Islam; and number two is commerce. So, the late Khalifa was a hero in both. He was a foremost Islamic cleric and businessperson. He combined the two in one.
“In his lifetime, he was a father to all, he cared for all, treated all equally and lived for humanity. To this effect, I assured the management of the university of my unalloyed support to the institution,” he said.
Earlier in his remarks, the proprietor of the university, Alhaji Rabiu Isyaka Rabiu, commended Senator Barau for his various interventions in the education and other sectors of the country.
